My formal art training started in 1956 at East Sydney Art School. I later studied for three years part-time at Meadowbank Art College then with portrait artists Joshua Smith and Eve Close and Meldrum painter Fred Martin. I was also tutored by landscape artist Alan Fizzell.
I am currently a Fellow and Council member of the Royal Art Society of NSW and an Exhibiting Member of the Australian Society of Marine Artists. My artwork has received over sixty awards and is represented in four Sydney council collections, Qantas collection, Parramatta Rugby League Collection as well as many other private and corporate collections in Australia and overseas. I am also listed in Max Germaine’s ‘Artists and Galleries of Australia’, 1990 3rd Edition.
Over the years I have held art demonstrations and workshops at Art Galleries, shopping centres and Art Societies. Also judging many art exhibitions and art critiques.
In company with other professional landscape painters, I have had countless painting trips all over NSW and interstate and even after thirty years I still look forward to these outdoor excursions.
